Between Two Silences was a solo exhibition that investigated language barriers, challenges within the educational system as well as South Africa’s history of resistance and resilience. The exhibition were made up out of 4 installations dealing with separate themes. The radio, Kwere Kwere, installation referred to our 11 official languages. A video artwork contextualised the body of work, placing it in rural South Africa. The music instruments referred to the oral tradition in Africa and represents the struggle period. The last installation was, Illumination, lit up books that resembles books floating on water.
